Anchor Texts

Students of all ages LOVE story-time... and it always seems to be most effective when students can learn about a concept or technique when they have a basic model from which to jumpstart their thinking.  I use these texts when I want to gear up for a complex topic, or for when I want to add a little bit of entertainment to the daily routines of my classroom.

Some of these books I have found on my own, but a great deal of credit must be given to the many teachers who already understand the amazing capabilities of a true, effective anchor text and were kind enough to share their discoveries with me.
